Israelite period oil lamps, crafted from simple clay bowls between 1200 and 586 BCE, exemplify ingenuity and resourcefulness. A single pinch in the rim, shaped while the clay was still soft, created a spout for the wick, allowing the lamp to illuminate spaces with focused light, symbolizing the quest for clarity and guidance in the darkness.
